Visuals

Pillar was a multidisciplinary concept space I founded in South Central Los Angeles, bringing together art, design, publishing, coffee, and community under one roof. More than a gallery or retail shop, it was an experiment in creating a neighborhood third space—one where people could gather, slow down, exchange ideas, discover independent artists and publishers, and experience thoughtful programming rooted in creativity and connection.

After two years of exhibitions, workshops, conversations, pop-ups, and countless meaningful encounters, we gathered for one final time to celebrate all that Pillar had become. This recap offers a glimpse of that closing celebration and serves as a reminder that while physical spaces may come to an end, the relationships, ideas, and sense of belonging they cultivate endure long after the doors close.

This visual I created with my good bud John Jenkins is a great introduction to me and it will give you insight to the things I'm passionate about.

In 2015 I wrote “curate a brunch experience with friends” as a goal but for whatever reason it didn’t happen. Mid-last year, I came across my 2016 notebook and I noticed that I had the same thing as a goal - which obviously didn’t happen that year as well. Instead of writing it down as a goal a 3rd consecutive year, this time I started taking the action steps to really make it happen (I had no clue what I was really doing) and with the culinary expertise of my amazing friend Maya J, and the vivacious hospitality of Marikoko, I’m pleased to say that I actually curated my first brunch experience this past December (2017).
