Greetings beautiful people. Here’s another update on my “shooting film” film journey.
Since I dedicated my 1st few rolls of film to acclimating myself to this new process, I didn’t really put to much thought into what I was shooting but by my 4th roll I was ready to carry out an idea; I figured why not start with some portraits - so I reached out to a few friends and below were the results. All shot on Kodak Portra 400.
I wish I could act like the grainy look was intentional but truthfully it wasn't, at that point I was still figuring out my shutter speed settings lol 🤷🏾♂️ By time I got around to my 5th roll, I felt more confident and I decided to capture mostly candid moments. I shot that whole roll on Fujicolor Superia X-tra 400.
After developing my 5th roll and seeing that most of my images come out as intended - I decided to revisit the idea of capturing portraits with this new understanding (of my camera settings lol) and I was very impressed by the outcome! All shot on Fujicolor Pro 400h.
I share all of this to simply say that I’m extremely committed to getting better with time. In next month’s newsletter, I’m looking forward to sharing some of the black and white images I captured! Stay tuned.
Just like last time and as a token of appreciation, I curated another lil’ playlist compiled of 21 of my current favorite tunes that I invite you to vibe out to! I hope you enjoy and I’ll be checking back in on the 21st of next month. Peace and love.
